More scattered rains are expected to fall in the city in the next 24 hours, as it received a short spell on Wednesday, the Met Office said.

The city's various observatories received varying rainfall amount as the Met recorded 32mm at North Karachi, 28mm at Saddar, 20mm at University Road, 12mm at Surjani, 8mm each, at Landhi and Jinnah Terminal, 5mm at Airport, 3mm, each, at Faisal Base, Keamari and 2 mm in Nazimabad during first short spell of Wednesday.

It said that rain and wind-thunderstorm are expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Thatta, Shaheed Benazirabad, Karachi and Hyderabad Divisions, while isolated falls in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bahawalpur, Multan, D G Khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Makran, Zhob and Kalat Divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Few heavy falls may strike lower Sindh. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

In the last 24 hours: Mirpurkhas received 36mm of rainfall, Noorpurthal 30mm, Islamkot 17mm, Rohri and Kaloi 14mm, each, Dir 5mm, Chhor and Hyderabad 3 mm, each, Tandojam 2mm.
